Chapter 4: Transportation
Read the Transportation chapter
The transportation policies and investments put into place over the next three decades will shape how Bay Area residents get around and where they choose to live.
Plan Bay Area 2050 offers transportation strategies that maintain and optimize the existing transportation system, create healthy and safe streets, and build a next-generation transit network. Together these strategies work toward a transportation system that prioritizes improved access to opportunity for all Bay Area residents and reduces climate emissions. Improvements range from well-maintained roads to more frequent bus service to safety-enhancing improvements for pedestrians and cyclists.
