Partner Engagement
In late summer/early fall, MTC-ABAG staff will host several engagement activities tailored for our partners, such as local jurisdictions, public agencies, nonprofit and advocacy organizations, and business and labor groups. The content will be more technical in nature and discussions will focus on:
- Sharing both the Draft Blueprint outcomes and the Transit 2050+ Draft Network
- Gathering feedback to inform the development of the Final Blueprint and address identified Draft Blueprint challenges
- Identifying early priorities for implementing Plan Bay Area 2050+
Technical Workshops
Following the release of the Plan Bay Area 2050+ Draft Blueprint and the Draft Transit 2050+ Network, MTC-ABAG staff hosted two in-person workshops on September 12 and 18, 2024, to solicit input on approaches to address Final Blueprint policy focus areas. These workshops were geared toward a technical audience including local jurisdiction and agency staff, and other interested partners.
Each workshop explored key questions on the four elements of the plan, such as:
- What are the most promising approaches for reducing affordable housing development costs?
- How best can the Bay Area further reduce per-capita greenhouse gas emissions from passenger vehicles?
- What types of transit service improvements are most likely to bring riders back?
- How can access to urban parks be increased in areas slated for high growth?
Office Hours
MTC-ABAG staff will host office hours during the fall to allow local jurisdiction and other partner organization staff to discuss specific questions about the Plan Bay Area 2050+ Blueprint and the Transit 2050+ Network in greater detail.
Check back soon for complete details on the timing of office hours and further details on how to schedule appointments.
Webinars

- Tuesday, August 6, 2024
Webinar Slide Deck
Zoom Recording (Passcode: 0QZs3aKK)
During the webinar, MTC-ABAG provided an overview of the key performance and equity findings from the Draft Blueprint analysis, as well as key challenges to address as part of the forthcoming Final Blueprint process — including how to reach the Bay Area’s statutorily-required per capita greenhouse gas emissions reductions target. Staff introduced the Draft Transit 2050+ Network and the findings from the assessment of major transportation projects. The webinar also provided a preview of planned public and partner engagement activities over the summer and fall, including pop-up public workshops in all nine Bay Area counties.
Staff plan to share additional information on Final Blueprint planning assumptions and other more technical aspects of the plan’s development at a future webinar(s) later in the summer or fall.
